ALGIERS– The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, held, on Thursday, at the headquarters of the ministry, a meeting with the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Algeria, Li Jian, during which the two parties discussed bilateral relations which bind the two countries.
The minister affirmed that “Algeria and China are strategic partners bound by strong friendship and mutual trust”, adding that “Algeria attaches great importance to deepening partnership in various fields and increasing volume of trade between the two friendly countries”.
For his part, the Chinese ambassador renewed his country’s interest in the Algerian market, especially after the promulgation of the new investment law, which is an opportunity for Chinese companies to examine investment opportunities offered by Algeria as a strategic partner of China in the region.
In addition, Minister Zitouni, received, Thursday, at the headquarters of the ministry, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin, according to a press release from the ministry published on its Facebook page.
During this meeting, the two sides discussed mechanisms to improve trade relations in areas of common interest.
Both sides also highlighted investment opportunities, including the incentives offered by the new investment law. The Minister affirmed Algeria’s desire to accelerate the pace of bilateral cooperation with the American partner in the commercial field.
