ALGIERS- Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, hosted a delegation from the Chinese company Huawei on Sunday in Algiers, led by Executive Vice President, Charles Young, to explore avenues for leveraging the solutions developed by the Chinese firm in the energy sector, particularly in renewable and new energies, as per a statement from the ministry.
The meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters and attended by officials from both sides, delved into “the state of cooperation between Huawei and energy sector companies and prospects for enhancing them, especially in the development of renewable and new energies, such as photovoltaic solar energy and hydrogen development,” the statement added.
Following a comprehensive presentation on Huawei’s activities and the latest intelligent solutions developed in the field of photovoltaic energy, emphasis was placed on the role of digital technologies and modern techniques in the development and enhancement of new energy sources and the optimization of their use, particularly regarding energy storage systems, electricity transportation, and their integration into the national electrical grid.
During the discussion, Minister Arkab outlined the key areas of cooperation, particularly regarding the solutions developed by the Chinese company in modern energy-related technologies, focusing on solar photovoltaic energy and its storage means, the document concluded.
