ALGIERS- Algeria has presented a gift consisting of 16,000 tons of urea fertilizer to the Republic of Kenya. This generous gesture follows the directives of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and aims to support Kenya in enhancing soil fertility and boosting agricultural productivity amid severe food shortages.

According to official sources cited by Algerian International Radio, the donation includes urea fertilizer (46%), primarily used for soil enrichment and improving agricultural output. Kenya is currently grappling with a severe food crisis, and this contribution is expected to play a crucial role in addressing the agricultural challenges in the country.

The decision to provide assistance to Kenya aligns with Algeria’s solidarity policy and commitment to contributing to the development of the African continent. President Tebboune, emphasizing Africa’s priority for Algerian fertilizer exports, reiterated this commitment during his supervision of the National Production Exhibition last December.

Algeria’s support to Kenya reflects its broader efforts to foster collaboration and sustainable development across the African continent.
