Algeria Gears Up to Host the Crucial International Gathering to Address Global Energy Security

Algiers- The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, welcomed the Secretary General of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, Mr. Mohamed Hamal, on Monday, as he embarked on a working visit to Algeria. The meeting revolved around the ongoing preparations for the eagerly anticipated seventh Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, scheduled to convene in Algeria in March 2024.

A statement released by the Ministry highlighted the paramount significance of this Summit, bringing together key players from gas-exporting nations worldwide. During their discussions, both Mr. Attaf and Mr. Hamal emphasized the urgent need for heightened coordination and cooperation between Algeria, as the host country, and the General Secretariat of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, to ensure the seamless execution of this momentous international event.

The upcoming Summit represents a unique opportunity for the global energy community to address critical challenges in the realm of energy security. Algeria, a prominent player in the gas export sector, aims to leverage this platform to foster dialogue, collaboration, and innovation that will shape the future of energy policies.
