Algiers- Algeria, May 15, 2024 – Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui chaired a government meeting on Wednesday, focusing on several key sectors. The meeting began with a review of the draft executive decree defining the organization and coordination of actions related to the prevention and fight against forest fires. This initiative aligns with the provisions of Law 23-21 on forests and forest resources, promulgated in December 2023.
The government also received a presentation on various achievements and projects aimed at preserving and promoting national memory, particularly among Algerians residing abroad. This effort is part of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s commitment to safeguarding national memory and strengthening ties between Algerians abroad and their homeland.
Another significant topic discussed was a project to connect the electricity networks of the northern and southern regions of the country. This project includes several structural initiatives designed to support strategic investments approved by the President. The aim is to foster the development of southern regions and integrate them economically into their regional environment.
In the cultural domain, the government received an update on the establishment of the National Higher Institute of Cinema, a project approved by the President. This institute is intended to provide high-quality training in cinema sciences and arts, with the goal of promoting the film industry in Algeria.
Finally, as part of efforts to digitize the national economy, the government received a progress report on the digitization of the trade and export promotion sector. This includes strengthening tools for controlling and regulating the domestic market, enhancing transparency in foreign trade, and supporting operators involved in export activities. These initiatives aim to modernize and streamline Algeria’s economic processes in line with global digital trends.
