ALGIERS- In Algeria, a driver who employs non-compliant lights is subject to a fine. On its Tariki Facebook page, the General Directorate of the National Gendarmerie (DGGN) published a news release. The use of lights that aren’t allowed has been mentioned in this post as a violation that entails a fine.
In fact, the executive decree 04-381’s article 135, paragraph 1, according to the same source, contains requirements regarding car lighting. Only yellow or white, in varying shades, should be used.
In addition, the DGGN pointed out that the violation of these provisions by using lights with variable hues or intensities has been amended for a minimum amount of 2,000 DA. And this, by virtue of Article 66/A6 of Law 01-14, modified and supplemented. The vehicle must therefore be immobilized until the lighting malfunction has been corrected.
Finally, the primary goal of this strategy is to ensure the safety of all road users. Therefore, drivers should be aware that the National Gendarmerie is responsible for ensuring their security.
