ALGIERS– Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, on Sunday received a phone call from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, during which the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and prospects for their strengthening, a ministry statement said.
“Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, on Sunday received a phone call from his brother, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the brother Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Safadi who congratulated him on his appointment as head of Algerian diplomacy,” the statement said, adding that the “two ministers exchanged vows on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.”
According to the same source, the phone call was an opportunity to review bilateral relations and prospects for their strengthening.
The two ministers expressed their “satisfaction with the progress made in implementing the guidelines of the leaders of the two countries, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his brother King Abdallah II Ben Al-Hussein, particularly with regard to the launch of a direct Algiers-Amman air line and the activation of the economic cooperation commission, in addition to the strengthening of exchanges between economic operators on both sides. They also agreed on the need to schedule preparatory meetings in anticipation of the next bilateral meetings”.
The two ministers also raised several issues relating to the priorities of joint Arab action, in particular the Palestinian cause and the challenges it faces , in addition to efforts aimed at unifying Arab ranks and the reintegration of the Syrian Arab Republic at the regional and international levels, the statement concluded.
