ALGIERS- The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Lounes Magramane, co-chaired the second session of Algerian-Kazakhstani political consultations on Monday in Algiers, along with Alibek Bakaev, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, both parties examined the status of bilateral cooperation in all fields and emphasized their shared willingness to strengthen relations between the two countries and expand areas of cooperation. This includes updating and enriching the legal framework governing their relations and establishing an agenda for reciprocal visits, as stated in a ministry press release.
In this context, both sides agreed on the importance of accelerating the establishment of a joint commission for economic, commercial, scientific, and technical cooperation. This commission would facilitate bilateral relations in these areas, providing them with new momentum that reflects the true potential of both countries.
International and regional issues of mutual interest were also at the forefront of discussions. This included topics such as the Western Sahara issue, the situation in the Sahel region, and the occupied Palestinian territories. Both parties expressed alignment in their positions on these matters, further enhancing their cooperation.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Algeria and Kazakhstan to strengthening their diplomatic ties and collaborating on various fronts to address shared challenges and pursue common interests.
