Algiers, Algeria | January 06th, 2024 — Algeria has taken a decisive step toward enhancing its economic footprint across the African continent with the launch of the “Dzair Export Assistance Program.” This initiative, unveiled on January 6, 2025, by the Economic Studies and Investment Development Institution, marks a pivotal milestone in Algeria’s strategy for regional economic integration and the empowerment of national exporters.
In an exclusive statement to Dzair Tube, Hicham Saidi, the President and CEO of the institution, emphasized the program’s significance as a direct outcome of extensive research conducted both domestically and across African markets. He highlighted how the initiative directly addresses the challenges faced by Algerian businesses seeking to expand their reach on the continent.
“This innovative program was developed as part of our institution’s broader regional economic integration strategy. It is specifically designed to serve the national economy and support Algerian exporters aiming to penetrate African markets. The launch is the result of comprehensive studies we conducted at both the national and continental levels, identifying key obstacles that have hindered export growth,” Saidi explained.
The Dzair Export Assistance Program is structured to provide a holistic framework of support for exporters, ranging from logistical assistance and regulatory guidance to tailored economic strategies for market entry. Saidi noted that many Algerian enterprises aspiring to expand into African markets have faced internal operational barriers, often linked to structural inefficiencies and limited expertise in navigating cross-border trade frameworks.
“By collaborating with specialists across various economic sectors, we have crafted a robust program capable of offering effective solutions, especially as Algeria joins the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA),” he added, emphasizing the program’s alignment with Algeria’s broader economic reforms and strategic trade objectives.
The program’s launch underscores Algeria’s commitment to strengthening its role as a regional economic powerhouse, leveraging the AfCFTA to diversify its economy beyond hydrocarbons and boost non-oil exports. This bold initiative not only provides practical tools for Algerian exporters but also reinforces the nation’s ambition to establish sustainable trade partnerships across Africa.
Saidi concluded by reiterating the program’s core mission: “This initiative is more than a service—it’s a strategic national tool for economic sovereignty and the promotion of Algerian excellence on the continental stage.”
