Algiers, Algeria | September 1st, 2024 — In a historic milestone for Algeria, Sonelgaz, through its subsidiary the Algerian Society of Electric and Gas Industries (SAIEG), has successfully exported electric vehicle charging stations to Libya and Italy. Khalil Hedna, the spokesperson for Sonelgaz, announced this landmark achievement, highlighting Algeria’s growing presence in the international green energy sector.

The export, consisting of 433 charging stations, marks a significant advance for the Algerian manufacturing industry. These stations were produced at SAIEG’s state-of-the-art facility, which has quickly emerged as a symbol of Algeria’s technological progress and commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

This breakthrough not only underscores the high quality and competitiveness of Algerian engineering but also reflects the country’s strategic efforts to diversify its economy by tapping into high-tech and environmentally friendly markets. The export of these charging stations marks Algeria’s entry into the global electric vehicle infrastructure market, positioning the nation as an emerging player in this rapidly expanding sector.

Furthermore, Sonelgaz is actively exploring additional export opportunities, with advanced negotiations already in progress with several potential clients across Europe and the Middle East. This international expansion signals a new era of economic growth for Algeria as it leverages its industrial capabilities to meet the rising global demand for sustainable energy technologies.

These developments underscore Sonelgaz’s critical role in advancing Algeria’s transition to a greener economy and enhancing its industrial footprint on the global stage. As the world increasingly embraces electric vehicles and renewable energy, Algeria is positioning itself at the forefront of this transformation, contributing to a more sustainable future.
