ALGIERS- Units of the Naval Forces of the People’s National Army (ANP) from the fifth military region carried out a tactical exercise titled: “Intervention for Hostage Liberation at a Power Plant.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), this exercise was successfully conducted at the Lachouat power plant in the Jijel province. Several units of the naval forces and the ANP, specialized in such interventions, participated in this exercise. Its objective was to establish and activate mechanisms to manage such situations, ensuring cooperation and coordination among units along the eastern maritime front of the country, within the framework of a hostage rescue operation at a sensitive energy production site.
The same source also specified that the exercise aimed to prepare the units of the General Staff to organize and conduct such operations effectively, while maintaining the readiness of intervention units.
The exercise demonstrates Algeria’s commitment to enhancing its capabilities in responding to potential security threats and emergencies, particularly those involving the safety of civilians and critical infrastructure. Such exercises are essential for maintaining readiness and ensuring a swift and coordinated response in crisis situations.
