ALGIERS- Lounès Magramane, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, welcomed Admiral Rob Bauer, President of the NATO Military Committee, during his visit to Algeria from April 17 to 19, 2024.

According to the ministry’s statement, Admiral Bauer’s visit is part of a tour of NATO’s Mediterranean Dialogue partner countries.

Discussions during the meeting focused on reviewing the partnership between Algeria and NATO, with a view to further enhancing cooperation to meet the aspirations of both parties. The forthcoming bilateral cooperation program, titled “Individualized Partnership Program,” was discussed to outline specific areas of collaboration.

The two parties exchanged views on international and regional issues of common interest, including challenges facing the Mediterranean region and developments in the Sahel-Saharan region and the Palestinian question.

Mr. Magramane reiterated Algeria’s efforts towards the development and stabilization of the Sahel region, as well as its initiatives within the United Nations Security Council to address the genocidal actions in Gaza.
