Algeria Participates in UN Summit of Future: FM Attaf Represents President Tebboune in High-Level Discussions

Algiers, Algeria | September 22nd, 2024 — Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, participated, on Sunday, in the opening session of the Summit of the Future in New York, representing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The summit, held at the United Nations headquarters, is focused on reinforcing multilateralism and enhancing global cooperation in critical areas.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was confirmed that Minister Attaf, acting on behalf of President Tebboune, took part in the opening ceremony of this summit. The two-day event, scheduled for Sunday and Monday, is aimed at addressing five central themes: sustainable development, international peace and security, scientific and technological cooperation, the rights of future generations, and the reform of global governance systems—both political and economic.
Minister Attaf is set to deliver an address during the plenary session of the summit and will engage in an interactive dialogue focused on “strengthening multilateralism in service of international peace and security,” underscoring Algeria’s ongoing commitment to fostering global cooperation on these pressing issues.
