Algeria: President Tebboune decides on increase in solidarity allowances

ALGIERS- The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, decided during the meeting of the Council of Ministers, held on Sunday, to increase the solidarity allowance to 12,000 DA for those who receive 10,000 DA and to 7,000 DA for those who receive 3,000 DA, with a view to improving the standard of living of citizens, including retirees.

The President of the Republic “decided, initially, to increase the solidarity allowance to 12,000 DA for those who receive 10,000 DA and to 7,000 DA for those who currently receive 3,000 DA”, specified a press release from the Council of ministers, emphasizing that “this increase will affect nearly one million beneficiaries”.

The Council of Ministers “approved the modification of the law relating to retirement to adapt it to the exceptional increases in allowances and pensions, decided by the President of the Republic in January 2023, reiterating his commitment to continue the strategy of improving the standard of living of citizens, including retirees, a category that has given a lot to Algeria during the years of service and which deserves gratitude and appreciation”, added the same source.
