Algeria: President Tebboune Sets Date for “Anticipated” Presidential Election – Video

ALGIERS- President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, chaired a meeting on Thursday dedicated to reviewing preparations for the upcoming presidential elections, announced the presidency in a statement.
According to the statement, it was decided to hold anticipated presidential elections, with the date set for Saturday, September 7, 2024, and the electoral body to be convened on June 8, 2024.
The statement specified that the meeting was attended by the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, the Director of the Presidential Cabinet, the Minister of the Interior, Local Assemblies, and Urban Planning, and the President of the Independent National Electoral Authority.
