Algeria Press Agency Slams Morocco’s Endless Fabrications in Desperate Anti-Algerian Campaign

Algiers, Algeria | February 12th, 2025 — The Algeria Press Agency (APS) has denounced the latest barrage of fabrications emanating from Morocco, exposing Rabat’s relentless campaign of deception aimed at distorting Algeria’s diplomatic efforts and tarnishing its international standing. In a scathing editorial, the agency underscored that Morocco’s state-sponsored disinformation machine has plunged into absurdity, crafting baseless allegations that insult intelligence and defy logic.

The recent wave of Moroccan falsehoods was triggered by the visit of Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, to Syria. This visit, which reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering support for Syria’s sovereignty and stability, sent shockwaves through Morocco’s ruling elite, prompting an orchestrated smear campaign across its state-aligned media and digital propaganda outlets.

Citing an age-old Arab proverb, “The louder the scream, the greater the pain,” the Algeria Press Agency emphasized that Morocco’s hysteria reflects its growing anxiety over Algeria’s influential diplomatic strides. In a desperate bid to divert attention from its own diplomatic failures, Rabat’s propaganda operatives fabricated an outlandish narrative alleging that Algerian soldiers and Polisario fighters were deployed in Syria—an outright lie devoid of any factual basis.

Not content with this grotesque invention, Morocco’s misinformation apparatus further escalated its deceit by falsely claiming that Minister Attaf requested the release of these alleged soldiers during his meeting with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa—an encounter that, in reality, revolved solely around reinforcing Algerian-Syrian bilateral cooperation and Algeria’s steadfast commitment to Syria’s reconstruction efforts.

This blatant distortion of facts epitomizes Morocco’s chronic reliance on deception as a foreign policy tool. Algeria Press Agency stressed that Rabat has become entrapped in its own web of lies, to the extent that it now believes its own fabrications. By continually churning out absurdities, Morocco has abandoned even the pretense of credibility, revealing itself as a rogue actor in the regional information sphere.

Beyond the realm of mere propaganda, this malicious campaign underscores Morocco’s obsession with destabilizing Algeria and undermining its diplomatic achievements. Instead of addressing its own internal crises—ranging from socio-economic discontent to an escalating human rights crisis—Morocco’s regime resorts to its habitual playbook: manufacturing external enemies to distract from its own failures.

Algeria Press Agency concluded by asserting that Algeria remains undeterred by Morocco’s desperate maneuvers. The Algerian diplomatic corps will continue to uphold its principled stance on regional and international issues, refusing to be swayed by the incessant barking of Rabat’s propaganda machine. To those who revel in spreading deceit, the message is clear: history has no place for frauds, and truth will always prevail over fabrication.
