Algeria-Qatar: 1st Session of Political Consultations Held

ALGIERS- The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lounès Magramane, co-chaired the first session of political consultations between Algeria and Qatar with his Qatari counterpart, Mr. Ahmed Hassan Al-Hammadi, in Doha on Sunday.
According to the ministry’s statement, this session is part of the activation of the clauses of the relevant memorandum of understanding, signed during the state visit of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Qatar in February 2022.
The session provided an opportunity to applaud the momentum and dynamics of the political relations between the two sisterly countries, as well as their constant development, as evidenced by the numerous official visits exchanged between the leaders of both countries in recent years.
Preparation for the 6th Session of the Joint High Committee
During the meeting, both parties reviewed the state of privileged bilateral relations in several areas, particularly political, economic, and investment fields, and discussed ways to deepen and further promote them in anticipation of the 6th session of the Joint High Committee between Algeria and Qatar.
These political consultations also provided an opportunity for an exchange of views and analyses between the two parties on several regional and international issues of common interest, including the Palestinian cause and the situation in the Sahel, Libya, and Sudan, where a convergence of views emerged.
