ALGIERS- Today in Moscow, the first session of political consultations between Algeria and Russia took place, jointly chaired by Lounes Magramane, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, and Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East and African Countries, and Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia.

This meeting falls within the framework of implementing the provisions of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Declaration signed in Moscow during the state visit of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Russia in June 2023.

The session of political consultations provided an opportunity to explore avenues for strengthening and promoting bilateral cooperation across various domains. Additionally, it facilitated exchanges of views on the evolution of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The discussions during the session underscored the commitment of both Algeria and Russia to enhancing their strategic partnership and fostering closer collaboration on matters of common concern. As the two nations continue to deepen their ties, such dialogues serve as crucial mechanisms for aligning their policies and initiatives in pursuit of shared goals and objectives on the global stage.
