Algeria, Saudi Arabia to continue efforts to strengthen joint Arab action

ALGIERS– Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal Ben Farhan Ben Abdallah Al Saoud reaffirmed, during phone talks, the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen joint Arab action, said a statement from the ministry on Thursday.

“The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Mr. Ahmed Attaf received a phone call from his brother the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a sisterly country, His Highness Prince Faisal Ben Farhan Ben Abdallah Al Saoud who congratulated him on his appointment as head of Algerian diplomacy, wishing him every success in the accomplishment of his missions”, read the press release.

The two parties reviewed, on this occasion, the historical Algerian-Saudi relations marked “by  brotherhood, cooperation, solidarity and mutual support between the two brotherly peoples”, expressing their willingness to work together to ensure the proper preparation of the next bilateral meetings to serve the common objectives in the political and economic fields.

The two ministers expressed “their satisfaction with the great convergence of the positions of the two sisterly countries on the main issues of common interest at the regional and international levels, insisting on the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen joint Arab action, especially since Saudi Arabia will be entrusted with the presidency of the Arab summit slated in Riyadh”, concluded the same source.
