ALGIERS- In a continuing show of solidarity with the Palestinian people, Algeria has dispatched a substantial humanitarian aid shipment totaling 162 tons, announced the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) on Friday. This latest initiative underscores Algeria’s unwavering commitment to supporting Palestinians amidst the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

The aid, comprising essential supplies such as food, medical equipment, medications, and tents, was transported from the Boufarik military airbase in Blida to El Arich Airport in Egypt. The logistical feat was achieved through the establishment of an air bridge, facilitating the swift and efficient delivery of aid to those in need.

Ibtissam Hamlaoui, President of the Algerian Red Crescent, emphasized the significance of this aid delivery, noting that it brings the total volume of aid sent by Algeria to Palestinian brothers and sisters to an impressive 310 tons since the onset of the aggression against Gaza. Hamlaoui reiterated the organization’s commitment to maintaining continuous communication with Palestinian and Egyptian counterparts to assess needs accurately and ensure the effective distribution of aid.

The aid shipment, which includes vital resources to alleviate the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the Zionist aggression, reflects Algeria’s proactive stance in providing tangible support to Palestinians facing the harsh realities of the blockade imposed on Gaza.

In a statement, the Algerian Red Crescent disclosed that loading of the humanitarian supplies commenced on March 24, following instructions from the President of the Republic. The comprehensive aid package encompasses a diverse range of necessities aimed at addressing immediate needs and bolstering resilience in Gaza.
