“Algeria Startup Challenge program led to the creation of 34,000 direct and indirect job positions over the past two editions,” Minister says

ALGIERS- The Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Small Businesses, Yassine El Mahdi Walid, has announced that the Algeria Startup Challenge program has been instrumental in discovering new talents in each edition. Speaking at the official opening of the fifth edition of the “Algeria Startups  Challenge,” Walid revealed that over 3,000 startups have participated in the event since its inception.

The minister went on to explain that the program has led to the creation of 34,000 direct and indirect job positions over the past two years, which will be covered by the self-contractor card. Walid also emphasized that his department is committed to supporting project holders by providing financing mechanisms to help bring their ideas to fruition.

This year’s program, themed “Innovation for a Sustainable Future,” covers a range of sectors, including financial technologies, technological food, technology for health, and green technology. The Algeria Startup Challenge program has proven to be a valuable platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative ideas and contribute to the growth of the Algerian economy. It has provided aspiring entrepreneurs with the resources and support they need to turn their ideas into successful businesses, and has helped to create a thriving startup ecosystem in Algeria.
