Algeria’ Strategic Diplomatic Triumph: “President Tebboune’s Tenure Spurs Accession to International Union of Architects,” affirms Hacene Melkia

ALGIERS  – The President of the National Council of Algerian Architects, Hacene Melkia, has expressed his delight at Algeria’s official membership in the International Union of Architects. The announcement was made during the Union’s General Assembly held in Copenhagen from July 6th to 9th, following an overwhelming support from 112 participating countries.

Melkia highlighted the importance of Algeria’s acceptance into the prestigious organization, stating, “This is a response to the path outlined by the country’ supreme authorities to open up to the world and join international and regional bodies. We have worked tirelessly to secure Algeria’s full-fledged membership, which will enable us to participate in the programs established for reconstruction. This includes the crucial aspect of academic accreditation for architecture schools, allowing graduates from accredited institutions to practice in member countries.”

Algeria’ successful accession to the International Union of Architects is a remarkable achievement for the National Council of Algerian Architects, led by Hacene Melkia. Through their unwavering dedication, the Council effectively showcased Algeria’s commitment to global engagement. During the General Assembly, the Algerian delegation, represented by two members of the National Council of Algerian Architects, engaged in productive discussions with various participating delegations, particularly those from neighboring Arab countries such as Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia. These exchanges fostered valuable dialogues on architecture as a profession, opportunities for training program development, knowledge sharing, job creation, and methods of enhancing professional relationships at both international and regional levels.
