ALGIERS- Algeria has vehemently condemned the aerial raid targeting the Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus, describing it as a flagrant violation of international laws and diplomatic norms.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed strong condemnation for the attack on the Iranian embassy, denouncing it as a criminal act that violates established international laws and conventions regarding the inviolability of diplomatic and consular missions. The statement emphasized that such actions pose a dangerous threat to the sovereignty of Syria, a sisterly republic.

Algeria extended its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and expressed sympathy for the injured, while also reaffirming its unwavering support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Arab Republic of Syria in the face of this blatant aggression. The country emphasized the need to address the situation promptly to prevent further escalation and mitigate the risk of insecurity and instability across the region.

The Algerian government underscored its commitment to upholding the principles of international law and diplomatic immunity, emphasizing the importance of respecting the sanctity of diplomatic missions as enshrined in international conventions. The statement concluded by calling for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and urging all parties to engage in dialogue to de-escalate tensions and promote regional stability.
