Algeria Strongly Condemns Assassination of Hamas Political Leader Ismail Haniyeh by Zionist Entity

Algiers, Algeria | July 31st, 2024 —vAlgeria has issued a robust condemnation of the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of Hamas, who martyred in a Zionist airstrike in Tehran on Wednesday. The attack occurred as Haniyeh was attending the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new president.

During a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s Foreign Minister, denounced the assassination as a “cowardly and despicable terrorist act” perpetrated by Zionist occupation forces. Attaf emphasized that this attack is a blatant violation of fundamental humanitarian, legal, political, and moral principles.

The Foreign Minister’s remarks underscore Algeria’s position against the continued violations by the Zionist entity. Attaf’s condemnation reflects Algeria’s broader stance on supporting Palestinian resistance and denouncing acts of aggression against Palestinian leaders and activists.
