Algiers, Algeria | February 1st, 2025 — Algerian travelers will soon benefit from a streamlined process to access the 750-euro travel grant, as announced by Zouhir Nasri, Vice Speaker of the People’s National Assembly. This measure, set to take effect in February 2025, aims to enhance transparency and accessibility by ensuring the grant is disbursed directly at airports and maritime ports across the country.

According to Nasri’s official statement, travelers will be required to visit the Bank of Algeria in their respective provinces before departure. To qualify for the grant, individuals must present a valid passport, travel visa, proof of travel insurance, and the equivalent amount in Algerian dinars. Upon fulfilling these conditions, the bank will issue a proof-of-exchange receipt, which will serve as an official document for collecting the funds.

Direct Disbursement at Airports and Ports

Once travelers complete border control formalities—including boarding pass verification, customs clearance, and passport control—they will be able to retrieve the 750-euro grant from Bank of Algeria kiosks strategically located within departure halls at airports and maritime terminals. This initiative marks a significant shift from previous procedures, where travelers often faced logistical hurdles in securing the foreign currency allocation before their trips.

In a move to further facilitate currency exchange and improve service efficiency, Nasri confirmed that Bank of Algeria will open dedicated branches within major airports and ports.
