Algeria to Launch First Commercial Free Zone in Tindouf: Premier Minister Larbaoui Sets Launch Date by Mid-2024

ALGIERS-In a significant announcement during his visit to Tindouf, Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui disclosed the upcoming launch of the inaugural commercial free zone in the province before the close of the first half of 2024.
Addressing the gathering during his official visit to Tindouf, Larbaoui emphasized that “the region’s economic momentum will be further amplified through ongoing projects for infrastructure development, notably with the opening of the Algerian-Mauritanian border crossing. Additionally, the establishment of the first commercial free zone in the province is slated to commence before the end of the first semester of 2024, opening new horizons for development.”
The Prime Minister’s visit to Tindouf is part of a comprehensive work program initiated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, involving a substantial financial allocation of 29.5 billion dinars for the province. This supplementary program complements existing development initiatives.
