Algeria to Serve as Official Host for Palestinian National Football Team in 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers

Algiers, Algeria – In a remarkable display of solidarity and sportsmanship, Algeria has officially announced its decision to host all official and unofficial matches of the Palestinian national football team during the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. A press release from the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) issued on Sunday afternoon revealed the decision. The statement affirmed the North African nation’s commitment to underwrite all associated expenses connected to hosting the Palestinian team.
“In execution of the directives of the high authorities of the country and following the request made by the President of the Palestinian Football Federation, Mr. Jibril Rajoub, Algeria has decided to host all the matches of the Palestinian selection and to take responsibility for all costs linked to these events,” read the FAF press release.
