Algeria, Uganda Forge Stronger Ties: President Tebboune’s Message Delivered to President Museveni

Algiers, Algeria | December 13th, 2024 — In a new diplomatic engagement underscoring Algeria’s commitment to fostering African solidarity, Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, was received on Friday in Kampala by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni. During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the tangible progress achieved in implementing the decisions from the 2023 summit, highlighting advancements in areas of mutual interest. Discussions further expanded to include pressing issues on the African Union’s agenda and broader international concerns.

Key topics of the dialogue included the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the Middle East, with both sides reaffirming their support for the Palestinian cause. Additionally, the conversation touched on the ongoing efforts for decolonization in Western Sahara, an issue Algeria has consistently championed within the African Union and beyond.
