“Algeria Unveils Zionist Crimes on the Global Stage,” States Palestinian Ambassador in Algiers

Algiers, Algeria | August 14th, 2024 — The Algerian government has been instrumental in exposing the crimes committed by Zionist forces against the Palestinian people, according to Mr. Fayez Abu Aita, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Algeria. During his appearance on the Algerian Television program “Corridor of diplomacy” (Riwak Ed-diblomassya), Ambassador Abu Aita highlighted Algeria’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, which has significantly contributed to bringing the atrocities against Palestinians to the forefront of international attention.
The ambassador underscored the importance of Algeria’s position as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, describing it as “extremely significant.” He praised Algeria’s steadfast commitment to defending the Palestinian cause, which has led to timely and decisive actions aimed at protecting the Palestinian people from what he termed the “cold-blooded barbarism” of the Zionist entity.
Call for Awakening Among Nations that Normalized Relations with the Zionist Entity
Amidst global indifference to the ongoing crimes in Gaza, Ambassador Abu Aita commended Algeria for prioritizing the Palestinian issue as both a national and humanitarian concern. He lauded Algeria’s efforts in unveiling the brutalities inflicted on the defenseless Palestinian population, particularly children. The ambassador urged countries that have normalized relations with the Zionist entity to “wake up,” expressing his disappointment that these nations believed normalization would benefit the Palestinian cause. He called on these countries to exert pressure on the occupying forces by ceasing all forms of normalization, especially in light of the continued “horrific massacres.”
Addressing the critical importance of national unity, Ambassador Abu Aita warned that without it, Palestinians would remain in a weakened position. He praised Algeria’s extensive efforts to promote Palestinian unity and end internal divisions, urging all parties to consolidate their ranks to effectively confront the occupying forces. The ambassador expressed deep concern over the ongoing divisions, particularly in the face of the “senseless war” being waged against the Palestinian people.
Regarding the massacres in Gaza since October 7, the diplomat described them as a “disgrace” not only for the Zionist occupiers but also for those who support them. He voiced sorrow over the persistent injustices faced by the Palestinian people, which have largely been ignored by the global community. However, he also acknowledged the “honorable positions” taken by European and American citizens, as well as certain countries, in stark contrast to the official stances of some of their governments.
Ambassador Abu Aita noted that several countries, including Norway, Spain, and Slovenia, have officially recognized the State of Palestine. He expressed hope that more nations would follow suit to advance the two-state solution and bring an end to the ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people.
