ALGIERS-  During an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers Council held in Saudi Arabia, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf delivered a poignant message, urging for concrete actions to address the dire situation in Gaza. Attaf emphasized the urgency of bolstering collective efforts and implementing measures to respond effectively to the distress calls of Palestinian brethren facing extermination.

At the meeting, Attaf underscored that the people of Gaza are enduring a relentless onslaught, characterized by immorality and unjustifiability. He stressed the imperative of ending injustices and suffering resulting from an immoral and unjustifiable aggression. Attaf urged for immediate and effective action at all levels to intensify pressure on the Zionist occupation, preventing it from further oppressing and victimizing the weakest and most innocent.

Expressing regret over the distortion of the resolution discussed during the meeting, Attaf lamented the loss of focus, which undermined the essence of the gathering. He urged participants to uphold their moral responsibilities by unequivocally supporting the severance of diplomatic, cultural, economic, commercial, military, and security ties with the occupation, echoing recent calls made during the African Union meeting.

Attaf called upon Muslim world leaders to strengthen efforts before international courts and support decisive measures to end the occupation’s long-standing exploitation of double standards. He emphasized the imperative of consolidating the two-state solution by expanding official recognitions of the State of Palestine and promptly advocating for its full membership in the United Nations.

In conclusion, Attaf reiterated Algeria’s unwavering commitment to advocating for Palestinian rights and the two-state solution. He emphasized that these objectives are paramount, requiring steadfast dedication and integrity from the international community, particularly within the OIC framework.
