Algerian Ambassador Presents Credentials to Egyptian President, Strengthening Diplomatic Ties

ALGIERS- The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Algeria to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Mr. Abdelaziz Benali Cherif, officially presented his credentials to the President of Egypt, Mr. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. This diplomatic milestone follows President Abdelmajid Tebboune’s appointment of the seasoned diplomat to a crucial position in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Mr. Abdelaziz Benali Cherif, whose diplomatic acumen has earned him the trust of President Tebboune, previously held several key positions within the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A graduate of the National School of Administration with a specialization in diplomacy in 1985, he embarked on a distinguished career, starting with his role at the Ministry’s Press and Communication Directorate. Notably, he authored Algeria’s environmental report, presenting it at the United Nations Environment and Development Conference.
His diplomatic journey continued with an assignment to the Algerian Embassy in Moscow, contributing to the diplomatic representation in Russia. Returning to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Abdelaziz Benali Cherif served as Deputy Director for Southern European countries and later as the Central Director for Western European countries at the Directorate General for Europe. Additionally, he assumed the role of Spokesperson for the Ministry, representing Algeria on the international stage.
In 1996, Mr. Abdelaziz Benali Cherif was appointed as the Deputy Director for Southern European countries and later as the Central Director for Western European countries at the Directorate General for Europe. His contributions extended to the Directorate of Communication, where he served as Director General and Official Spokesperson. His leadership qualities were further recognized when he was appointed as the Head of the Ministry’s Office and subsequently as the Ambassador of Algeria to Argentina.
The culmination of this illustrious diplomatic career came with President Tebboune’s decision to entrust Mr. Abdelaziz Benali Cherif with the role of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Egypt.
As the newly appointed Ambassador navigates his responsibilities in Cairo, the rich and diverse experiences accumulated throughout his diplomatic journey position him as a valuable representative in fostering bilateral relations, promoting cooperation, and contributing to the ongoing collaboration between Algeria and Egypt on regional and international fronts.
