ALGIERS- The US Navy’s high-speed personnel transport ship, the “USNS TRENTON,” has been docked at the port of Algiers since Friday, announced the Ministry of National Defense (MDN) in a statement released on Saturday.
According to the MDN statement, this port call is part of the implementation of various Algerian-American military cooperation activities in the maritime domain.
The statement also specifies that the “USNS TRENTON” high-speed personnel transport ship of the US Navy has berthed at the Port of Algiers for a duration of two days, namely Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23.
During this port call, on the morning of March 23, 2024, the offshore tug “Al-Munajjid” No. 701 participated in a “PASSEX” exercise with the high-speed personnel transport ship, at the central waterfront in the First Military Zone.
This activity aims to enhance joint operational cooperation and exchange experiences between the Algerian naval forces and the US Navy.
