Algiers, Algeria | July 8th, 2024 — On Monday, the Ministry of National Defense (MDN) of Algeria reported that a detachment of the Algerian People’s National Army (ANP) successfully neutralized two terrorists during a combing operation in Khenchela province. This mission, part of the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts, was conducted within the military jurisdiction of Khenchela in the 5th Military Region. On July 7, 2024, the ANP engaged and eliminated the two identified terrorists.
The MDN’s statement revealed that one of the terrorists was Boughrara Mourad, who had been affiliated with terrorist groups since 2010. The identity of the second terrorist is still being verified.
The operation also resulted in the recovery of two Kalashnikov assault rifles, ammunition, and various other items. This successful mission highlights the ANP’s unwavering vigilance and commitment to eradicating terrorist threats across Algeria, aiming for their complete elimination.
The MDN continues to emphasize the crucial importance of such operations in maintaining national security and ensuring the safety of Algerian citizens from terrorist activities.
