After outshining thousands in national and regional rounds, Algeria’s top tech talents prepare to compete internationally in innovation, networks, computing, and cloud technologies
Algiers, Algeria | April 11th, 2025 — In a compelling demonstration of Algeria’s rising technological prowess, 14 outstanding Algerian students have qualified for the finals of Huawei ICT Competition, set to take place in China this May. This global contest, organized by the Chinese tech giant Huawei, brings together the brightest minds from around the world to compete in key technological fields such as Innovation, Networking, Computing, and Cloud Solutions.
According to an official statement by Huawei Algeria, the 14 Algerian students earned their spot in the global finals after excelling in a rigorous series of online qualifying rounds. Their “exceptional performance,” the company said, placed them among the top contenders from the Middle East and North Africa region, affirming their readiness to represent their country with distinction on the international stage.
This year’s national competition witnessed over 2,500 Algerian participants, signaling not only a strong turnout but also the growing enthusiasm of Algerian youth for information and communication technologies (ICT). The results reflect a promising future for Algeria’s digital sector, as an increasing number of students are striving to hone advanced ICT skills and position themselves at the forefront of digital innovation.
Huawei Algeria emphasized its ongoing commitment to fostering the next generation of Algerian tech leaders. Through its Huawei ICT Academy, the company has provided thousands of students across Algerian universities with access to high-level academic training in ICT. These programs aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry, preparing students for real-world challenges in the digital economy.
Notably, Algeria’s previous participation in this global competition culminated in international recognition, with Algerian teams taking home top prizes in the Cloud and Networking categories during the last edition held in China.
Huawei’s continuous investment in the Algerian education ecosystem is part of a broader effort to enhance partnerships with local universities, promote digital literacy, and empower youth to be active players in the global technology revolution. As Algeria accelerates its national digital transformation, initiatives like the Huawei ICT Competition serve as a vital platform for young talents to showcase their capabilities and expand their horizons.
