Algerian Chief of Staff, Saïd Chanegriha, Received by Qatar’s Emir’s Personal Representative

ALGIERS- During the third day of his visit to Qatar, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, was received in audience by Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the personal representative of the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The audience, held on Tuesday, was attended by the Algerian delegation and Khaled Ben Mohamed Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, as well as General of the Army Hamad Ben Ali Al-Attiyah, the Emir’s advisor for defense affairs.
During the meeting, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha “conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense to his brother, His Highness Prince Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, and through him to the entire brotherly Qatari people,” stated a press release from the Ministry of National Defense.
In his message, President Tebboune emphasized the importance he attaches “to the promotion of our bilateral military relations in all areas of common interest.”
The Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army discussed areas of military cooperation “uniting the armies of the two countries,” which “is experiencing significant development under the unwavering leadership of the leaders of the two countries, and in light of their common will to continually promote and elevate it to the desired level.”
“In this regard, it is worth noting the remarkable level of political relations between Algeria and the brotherly State of Qatar, which constitutes a motivation for our two armies to move forward on the path of military cooperation in line with this distinguished and promising political rapprochement between the two countries,” emphasized General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha.
“We can affirm that, thanks to these mutual visits of various levels, we have laid the groundwork for our future bilateral relations in various fields, which will enable us to identify together the areas of possible and mutually beneficial cooperation,” he added.
For Sheikh Jasem Ben Hamad Al Thani, Algeria’s participation in the 8th Edition of the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference “DIMDEX-2024” reflects “the high level of bilateral military cooperation,” which reflects “the high level of understanding and trust characterizing the relations between Algeria and Qatar on more than one level,” concluded the Ministry’s statement.
