Algerian Civil Protection Teams Ready to Deliver 100 Tonnes of Aid to Support Morocco’s Earthquake Victims

Algiers, September 11, 2023 – In a heartwarming display of solidarity, Algeria is gearing up to send a significant emergency aid package to assist its neighboring country, Morocco, after a catastrophic earthquake shook the nation on Friday evening. The seismic event has tragically claimed nearly 2,700 lives and left over 2,500 people injured. As the people of Morocco grapple with the aftermath of this disaster, Algeria stands ready to lend a helping hand in their hour of need.

As reported by the El-Bilad channel, civil protection teams in Algeria are poised to launch their humanitarian mission this Monday evening. They are ready to depart from Boufarik airport, carrying essential supplies and resources aimed at alleviating the suffering caused by the devastating earthquake.

The Algerian aid package includes an impressive 100 tonnes of relief materials. Among these, 40 tonnes comprise vital food products, while several tonnes of medicine, tents, and various other essential supplies are also included in this generous assistance effort.

According to the El-Bilad channel, the humanitarian mission is set to take flight aboard three Algerian air force planes, which have been mobilized for this noble endeavor. These aircraft are currently awaiting the green light from the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signaling the start of their journey to Morocco.
