Algerian Communication Minister Laagab Explores Media Collaboration Horizons with Arabsat’s Executive Director

ALGIERS-On Tuesday, the Minister of Communication, Mohamed Laagab, met with Arabsat’s Executive Director, Al-Hamidi Al-Anzii, and the accompanying delegation.
According to a statement from the ministry, the meeting took place at the ministry’s headquarters in the presence of representatives from the National Broadcasting Company (Entreprise nationale de Télédiffusion, TDA), ministry officials, as well as the directors-general of radio and television. During the meeting, Al-Hamidi Al-Anzii provided a detailed presentation of Arabsat’s characteristics and the services it offers to its clients, with Algeria being a priority in its strategy.
In this context, Al-Enezi expressed his readiness and full commitment to any suggestions to further develop and strengthen relations with Algeria, praising the country’s cultural and tourist diversity and the enormous potential it has in various fields.
“These potentialities require enhancement to give Algeria the place it deserves in the broadcasting system” and “to promote the image of Algeria and its true dimension in all regions of the world, especially as Arabsat has 10 satellites and covers Africa, Europe, America, and Asia entirely,” assured Al-Hamidi Al-Anzii.
During the discussion, the Minister of Communication highlighted the state’s policy and the ministry’s strategy to diversify media partnerships between different broadcasting organizations, emphasizing the need to explore broader means to strengthen Algeria’s presence in the global audiovisual system.
The minister also expressed Algeria’s willingness to develop relations with Arabsat, especially those related to training and learning, in accordance with the provisions of the new media law to “provide quality training for journalists and professionals” and “keep pace with modern technological developments in the media and communication sector.”
However, the minister reminded that TDA is the only authority authorized to conclude partnerships and agreements and to ensure the technical aspects with Arabsat and others.
At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed on the need to elevate cooperation between Algeria and Arabsat to new horizons that can be realized by providing quality media service and relevant media content.
