ALGIERS- Communication Minister Mohamed Bouslimani said, on Saturday, that the case of the illegal exfiltration of the Algerian national Amira Bouraoui has “dropped the masks” of the French press, which is waging a virulent campaign aimed at undermining Algeria, calling on the Algerian media, all categories combined, to respond to these vile campaigns with great professionalism.

“What the French press did did not surprise us. Everything was clear long before, but today, the case of the exfiltration of the so-called Amira Bouraoui has brought down all the masks”, said Bouslimani in an interview with the electronic newspaper “AlgerieMaintenant”.

The French press “tried to mislead international public opinion by calling (Amira Bouraoui) a journalist, when she has no connection with the profession of journalism and all people in the sector in Algeria know this fact,” added the minister.

Amira Bouraoui “carried out an agenda on behalf of well-known foreign powers… the proof of this is the scandalous position of the French public media, which launched a virulent campaign against Algeria, reminiscent of those carried out from the 1990s , when they (the French media) did everything possible to bring down the Algerian state, clearly attacking the People’s National Army (ANP), a worthy heir to the National Liberation Army (ALN) ”, underlined Bouslimani, adding that “they were behind the sinister question + Who is killing who? +, although they knew full well that the Algerian state and people were fighting blind terrorism”.

“If the French press had not succeeded at the time in its plans to overthrow the Algerian state which was fighting terrorism alone, how could it today harm the new Algeria, considered as a regional power, a united and indivisible Algeria, as chanted by the Algerians during the blessed Hirak +Djeïch, chaâb, khawa khawa+”, maintained the minister.

“The concrete achievements that Algeria has made under the leadership of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune now disturb the enemies of Algeria who are betting desperately on the destabilization of the State and its institutions, and we assure them that they will never succeed in achieving their malicious goals,” he stressed.

As for the possibility that this affair affects the Algerian-Tunisian ties, Bouslimani affirmed that “the relations between Algeria and Tunisia have been so consolidated, in particular these last three years, that they will never be shaken by the gesticulations media outlets with explicit objectives orchestrated by French media which still do not admit, nor their sponsors for that matter, that Algeria is sovereign in its decisions”.

“Algeria has chosen to be alongside Tunisia in every sense of the word,” he continued.

“After the desperate attempts of the French press to exploit the shameful affair of the exfiltrated Bouraoui, with the aim of destabilizing the strong and fraternal relations between Algeria and Tunisia, the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune had urged, as part of the strengthening of ties between the two peoples, to facilitate the access of Tunisian citizens to Algeria via the border posts, and, thus, has closed the door to any attempt”.

Faced with all these many challenges, “the enemies of stability and success are now using all the means at their disposal, including the media, in order to break the upward curve recorded by the country”, estimated the Minister, stressing that “the Algerian media, all categories combined, are called upon to face these vile campaigns with high professionalism”.

Bouslimani said he was confident in the ability of the national media to “transmit the true image of Algeria to face the forces of evil”.

“Despite all the blatant attempts and the plans hatched by these forces of evil, Algeria, with its army and its people, is resolutely advancing on its path traced by the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the construction of the ‘New Algeria, the Algeria dreamed of by the chouhada and of which today’s young people dream’.
