Algerian Consulate in Brussels Brings Administrative Services Closer to the Diaspora in Luxembourg

Algiers, Algeria | December 17th, 2024 — In a significant move aimed at addressing the needs of the Algerian diaspora abroad, the Algerian Consulate General in Brussels dispatched a specialized delegation to Luxembourg to provide essential administrative services. Acting upon the directives of Consul General Moncef Mansri and in collaboration with Mr. Karim Aknine, President of the Algerians in Luxembourg Association, this initiative seeks to alleviate logistical burdens and streamline access to consular services for Algerians residing in the region.
The mission, marked by both efficiency and accessibility, was designed to meet the rising demand for essential procedures such as passport issuance and renewal, national ID cards, military exemption certificates, birth certificates, and various other administrative formalities. This outreach initiative spares Algerian nationals the inconvenience of traveling over 200 kilometers to Brussels, a challenge that has long posed logistical and financial difficulties for many families and individuals in Luxembourg.
Madame Dahmani, a representative of the Algerian Consulate, underscored the purpose of this initiative, emphasizing its role in addressing the community’s needs: “This effort was launched to meet the growing requests of Algerians in Luxembourg and to ensure their administrative requirements are met locally, without the need for arduous travel to Brussels.”
The initiative witnessed a notable turnout, reflecting the community’s eagerness for such direct and accessible services. Members of the Algerian diaspora expressed their appreciation for this thoughtful effort, applauding the consulate’s proactive approach in prioritizing their needs.
Algerians residing in Luxembourg hailed this initiative as a clear demonstration of the Algerian state’s commitment to its citizens abroad. Many expressed their gratitude to the Consulate General in Brussels for its tireless efforts and praised Algeria’s leadership for taking charge of the concerns of the diaspora. One resident stated, “We are grateful to the consulate and to Algeria for listening to us and addressing our challenges. This initiative shows that our concerns matter and are being handled with care and responsibility.”
This effort aligns with the vision of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who has repeatedly emphasized the importance of supporting Algerian nationals abroad and reinforcing their connection to their homeland.
