ALGIERS– The Algerian leading cosmetics brand ‘Protellisse’ plans to export its products to Arab and African countries, said Mr. Reda Atoussi, the Director General of Protellisse cosmetics company.

Interviewed by Dzair Tube on the sidelines of his company’s participation in the International Salon of Cosmetics “Cosmetica Algeria 2023,” Mr. Atoussi announced his intention to introduce the company’s products that are competitive and certified to foreign markets, abroad.

“In line with the orientations of the New Algeria to create an environment conducive to the transition from a rentier economy to an economy with diversified incomes without dependence on oil and price volatility on international markets, the company launched a series of talks with our African and Arab friends. We will keep pace in order to introduce the Algerian product abroad,” he said.

In this vein, he launched an appeal to the authorities to support economic operators by granting them more facilities for the export of their products abroad.

“Algeria is heading, within the framework of the new economic approach, with firm and more realistic steps, towards the diversification of the national economy, through which we aspire to lay the solid foundations of a strong and sustainable national economy. As we know, the country’s public authorities have drawn up a strategy to advance its non-oil exports as an urgent necessity to keep pace with the dynamic integration of the global economy and promoting foreign trade exchanges. As an Algerian company with 100% well-experienced Algerian workers, we have lauded these measures and we call upon the authorities to grant us more facilities and provide financial support to Algerian companies to upgrade their export activities to attract foreign customers as well as introduce measures and mechanisms to encourage local producers to better adopt their production tools to the requirements of the targeted markets. We are proud of the Algerian companies which penetrated global markets. We aspire that more companies would follow their sustainable footsteps,” he added.

In an unrelated context, the official lamented the fact that some Algerian companies are imitating the company’s products, which would hurt the established brand.

“I denounce, in the strongest terms, the fact that some Algerian companies are imitating our products. I urge the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion to urgently put an end to these disgraceful practices,” he stressed.
