Algerian Council of Nation Speaker Urges Palestinian Unity for Independence

Algiers, November 15, 2023 – Salah Goudjil, Speaker of the Council of the Nation, delivered a powerful message to the Palestinian people, urging them to unite and speak with one voice in their quest for independence and the liberation of their country. Goudjil emphasized that genuine struggle requires solidarity and alliance, even if it entails significant material consequences and human losses.
Speaking at the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Algiers 3, during a conference marking the 35th anniversary of the declaration of the creation of the State of Palestine in Algeria, Goudjil drew parallels between the colonization experiences of Algeria and Palestine, describing them as similar forms of settler colonialism.
Goudjil stated, “The colonization of Algeria and Palestine are similar because both involve settler colonialism.” He highlighted the firm stance of Algeria on the Palestinian issue, emphasizing that “Algeria has long been known for its position on the Palestinian question.”
The Council of the Nation Speaker underscored the importance of unity and a unified voice among Palestinians, stating that it is crucial for regaining independence. He acknowledged that the path of struggle might be challenging, but unity is an essential element in facing the complexities of the situation.
