Algerian Culture Minister Mouloudji Meets Niger’s Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture, and Arts

Algiers, Algeria | August 12th, 2024 — On Monday, Soraya Mouloudji, Algeria’s Minister of Culture and Arts, held a meeting with Abdourahmane Amadou, Niger’s Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture, and Arts, in Algiers. The meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening cultural and artistic collaboration between the two nations.

Mouloudji underscored the value of enhancing cultural and artistic relations with Niger, emphasizing the strong and fraternal ties that have long characterized the relationship between the two countries. She expressed her satisfaction with the historical connections and the ongoing friendship between Algeria and Niger.

The discussions centered on several strategies to deepen cultural cooperation. This included supporting projects aimed at preserving and promoting shared intangible cultural heritage. Additionally, the two sides explored opportunities for exchanging experiences between cultural parks in both countries and enhancing partnerships in artistic training and creative industries.

Updating the Cultural Cooperation Agreement

A key outcome of the meeting was the agreement to update the cultural cooperation agreement originally signed on April 18, 1988. This update aims to advance and expand collaboration in the fields of culture and the arts, reflecting the growing importance of these sectors in both countries.
