Algiers, Algeria | December 2nd, 2024 — The Algerian delegation, led by Minister Tayeb Zitouni, made a bold statement at the 29th edition of the Partnership Summit in New Delhi by walking out of the venue upon the arrival of the so-called “Minister of Economy” from the Zionist entity. The move, which took place during the official speech of the Zionist official, underscores Algeria’s unwavering commitment to its principles of rejecting any form of normalization with the Zionist entity, whose government continues to perpetrate atrocities against the defenseless Palestinian people.

The Algerian Ministry of Interior Trade and Market Regulation issued a statement affirming that this action was a reaffirmation of Algeria’s long-standing position of solidarity with the Palestinian cause. The statement further emphasized Algeria’s firm stance against the Zionist entity’s ongoing violent repression of Palestinians, reiterating its unyielding opposition to any attempts at normalization with the Zionist entity.

The boycott was not limited to the Algerian delegation alone. The Arab League’s Ambassador to India also followed suit, refusing to attend the Zionist minister’s address in a show of solidarity with Algeria’s stance. The move reflects a broader sentiment of opposition within the Arab world to the normalization efforts with the Zionist entity.

The 29th Partnership Summit, which is taking place from December 2 to 3, 2024, is a major international event featuring government representatives, economic institutions, and experts in international partnerships. Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in collaboration with India’s Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the summit serves as a platform for exchanging expertise in the fields of cooperation and investment.

Algeria’s walkout is not an isolated incident but part of the country’s continued diplomatic and political efforts to underscore its support for Palestine in the face of growing normalization trends across the international community. The move sends a clear message about Algeria’s commitment to maintaining its principled stance on Palestinian rights and its rejection of any diplomatic engagement with the Zionist entity until a just solution is reached for the Palestinian people.
