Algiers, Algeria | July 12th, 2024 — The Algerian Embassy in Beijing celebrated the 62nd anniversary of Algeria’s Independence Day and Youth Day with a ceremonial event attended by embassy staff and members of the Algerian community in China.
The ceremony commenced with the flag-raising, the national anthem, and the recitation of the Fatiha from the Holy Quran in memory of the valiant Chouhada. This was followed by Ambassador Lahcene Kaid Slimane reading a message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to the Algerian people, marking the special occasion.
Celebration and Reflection
Approximately 200 members of the Algerian community in China, including students and national professionals, attended the event. They expressed pride in their heritage and gratitude for such initiatives that honor the sacrifices of the Chouhada. These events help preserve the national memory and strengthen the sense of belonging, particularly among younger generations.
Honoring Achievements
The ceremony also recognized the achievements of Algerian sports teams that participated in a football tournament. Certificates of honor were awarded to students and journalists, acknowledging their contributions and dedication.
