ALGIERS- Commemorating Victory Day, the Algerian embassy in Brussels organized a solemn ceremony to honor the memory of the nation’s courageous martyrs. The event, attended by embassy members, featured the rendition of the national anthem.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Amine Bencherif provided a poignant reflection on the historical significance of the occasion, amidst the backdrop of the Algerian people’s sacrifices and resistance against colonial oppression during the glorious liberation revolution.
In a parallel vein, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune conveyed a poignant message to the Algerian populace on March 19th, commemorating Victory Day. He underscored the profound sacrifices made by Algerians, Mujahideen, and martyrs in their unwavering quest for independence. Emphasizing the 62nd anniversary of March 19, 1962, President Tebboune portrayed it as a pivotal milestone in Algeria’s enduring struggle for liberation.
“The independence of Algeria emerged triumphantly from this historic event, marking the culmination of over 130 years of colonial dominance and dispelling the myth and propaganda of ‘French Algeria’ perpetuated by the colonizers,” resonated President Tebboune’s message.
Reiterating his steadfast dedication to realizing the objectives outlined in the November 1st message within the framework of the New Algeria, President Tebboune emphasized, “The New Algeria will materialize the aspirations of the November 1st call by bolstering national sovereignty, enhancing decision-making autonomy, and fostering a robust and competitive national economy, all while upholding the social fabric of the state and safeguarding the dignity of its citizens.”
President Tebboune urged for the consolidation of the internal front and unity of ranks, stressing, “In light of the prevailing regional and international circumstances, unity of ranks and fortification of the internal front are imperative. It necessitates the prioritization of nationalist and strategic objectives to preserve the stability of our nation.”
Furthermore, the President extolled the indomitable nationalist spirit of the Algerian people, commending the tireless efforts of associations, civil society, and elements of the People’s National Army (ANP) in safeguarding the security and stability of our beloved nation.
