Algiers, Algeria | May 22, 2024 — During his official trip to Congo-Brazzaville, Mohamed Arkab, Algeria’s Minister of Energy, led a delegation and received a warm welcome from Congolese President Denis Sassou-Nguesso in Brazzaville. As per a statement released by the Algerian Ministry of Energy, Minister Arkab conveyed fraternal greetings from Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to President Sassou-Nguesso, highlighting the enduring friendship between the two nations.
In response, President Sassou-Nguesso expressed his highest regard for President Tebboune and instructed Minister Arkab to extend fraternal greetings back to the Algerian President. He reaffirmed Congo-Brazzaville’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including hydrocarbons, electricity, renewable energies, and mining.
President Sassou-Nguesso stressed the profound friendship and solidarity shared between Algeria and Congo-Brazzaville, rooted in common African values of unity. This sentiment reflects the longstanding and respectful relationship between the two countries.
