Algerian FM Ahmed Attaf Holds Talks with Saudi Counterpart on Palestinian Aggression

ALGIERS– Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, engaged in a meeting today with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The meeting, held in Djeddah, Saudi Arabia, was convened to address the recent Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people.
During the meeting, Minister Attaf and Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud conducted a comprehensive review of the robust fraternal relations between Algeria and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening ties across various domains. Both ministers reaffirmed the unwavering solidarity and support between the two countries and peoples.
A significant portion of the discussion centered on the evolving situation in the Gaza Strip and the urgent efforts being made to secure a cessation of hostilities and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian enclave. Both ministers expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence and emphasized the need for immediate action to alleviate the humanitarian crisis facing the people of Gaza.
Minister Attaf underscored Algeria’s steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause and its unwavering support for the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination and sovereignty. He reiterated Algeria’s condemnation of the brutal Zionist attacks on innocent civilians and called for international intervention to hold the Zionist entity accountable for its flagrant violations of international law.
The meeting concluded with both ministers reaffirming their commitment to ongoing diplomatic efforts and collaboration within the OIC to address the urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza and advocate for a comprehensive and sustainable resolution to the conflict.
