ALGIERS-  The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, delivered a comprehensive report on joint Arab action during the period between the Algiers and Jeddah summits. The report was presented on behalf of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who is also the President-in-Office of the Arab League at the summit level.

Attaf, who is also the Chairman of the Commission for Monitoring the Implementation of the Decisions Adopted by Arab Leaders during the Algiers summit, discussed the mechanisms for implementing the resolutions adopted in Algiers and the pursuit of joint efforts aimed at concretizing the decisions and orientations agreed by the Arab leaders during the summit.

The report, which will be submitted to Arab leaders on Friday, highlights Algeria’s efforts to strengthen the centrality of the Palestinian cause and mobilize more support for it at regional and international cooperation. It also emphasizes the importance of Arab reunification, clean air, safeguarding Arab national security, formulating Arab solutions to Arab problems, and enhancing the performance of the League of Arab States and its various mechanisms.

During his presentation, Attaf stressed the need to combine efforts in order to continue the work of reunification of the ranks in order to face the challenges imposed by the new international relations. The Minister’ speech was well-received by the attendees, who appreciated his insights and recommendations.

In light of the global changes and the reconfiguration of the balance of power, it is imperative that we adapt and work together as a unit to shape international relations based on the sovereignty of states. This sentiment was underlined by the Minister, who emphasized the need for cooperation and collaboration in the face of such situations. Algeria, in particular, places its hopes in the Jeddah Summit as a renewed opportunity to continue our efforts by overcoming our differences.

Under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Algeria has made these objectives a top priority during its periodic presidency. The wise and insightful decisions made by our leaders are in the interest of all Arab countries and peoples. We welcome the signs of this trend, which have begun to manifest themselves with the return of Syria to the organization. This has allowed us to consolidate the relationship between Syria and the Arab countries and contribute collectively to the resolution of the crisis in that country, as well as to the rapprochement between Turkey and Iran.

Algeria also welcomes the first indicators of a lasting solution to the crisis in Yemen. We hope to continue and strengthen this rapprochement in the form of a full-fledged Arab consensus that will allow us to settle our differences internally instead of internationalizing them.

Addressing the Palestinian question, the head of diplomacy called on participants to redouble their efforts to guarantee the right of the Palestinian people to establish their own independent state with Quds as its capital. It is crucial that we work together to ensure a peaceful and just resolution to this longstanding cause.

During the Algiers summit, Algeria made it clear that the Palestinian cause was of utmost importance. The signing of the Declaration of Algiers by Palestinian factions further solidified this stance. As a result, the Minister emphasized the country’s unwavering support for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations (UN).

The Minister also expressed deep concern over the ongoing political and security crises in certain countries, as well as the emergence of new hotbeds of tension. These issues have deprived our brothers and sisters of the basic human rights of security, tranquility, stability, and prosperity. The situation in Sudan, in particular, has deteriorated significantly, with severe political, security, and humanitarian repercussions.

It is imperative that we address these issues with urgency and work towards finding sustainable solutions. Our collective efforts can help bring about a more peaceful and stable world, where all individuals can thrive and reach their full potential.

The report presented by Attaf serves as a roadmap for future joint Arab action and cooperation.

In conclusion, Algeria remains committed to coordinating with its Arab counterparts to shape international relations based on the sovereignty of states and to overcome our differences through cooperation and collaboration. We look forward to continued progress and success in these efforts.
