Algerian FM Ataff in Brussels for “Arab-European” Ministerial Meeting on Palestinian Cause

Algiers, Algeria | May 26, 2024 — At the behest of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf arrived in Brussels, Belgium, this Sunday afternoon to participate in an Arab-European ministerial conference centered on the Palestinian issue.
This conference, initiated by President Tebboune, follows the inaugural session held in Riyadh at the end of April. That initial gathering brought together a coalition of Arab and European nations in a collaborative diplomatic endeavor. The primary goals of these meetings are to advocate for a two-state resolution to the Zionist-Palestinian conflict and to strengthen efforts toward achieving diplomatic recognition of the State of Palestine.
Algeria’s involvement in this conference is particularly significant given its role as an Arab member of the UN Security Council and its consistent support for the Palestinian cause. Algeria has been actively working to halt the ongoing Zionist aggression against Gaza and to promote the recognition of Palestine as a full-fledged state of the United Nations.
