Algiers, Algeria | May 30, 2024 — Speaking at the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the Sino-Arab Cooperation Forum in Beijing on Thursday, Mr. Attaf offered a positive assessment of the two-decade-long Sino-Arab partnership, highlighting its notable achievements.
Attaf emphasized the consolidation of political alignment, deepening economic ties, and fostering cultural and human connections as key successes of the partnership. He noted the collective commitment to the principles of the Charter of Humanity and the UN Charter, underlining the partnership’s role as a beacon of balanced relations amid global imbalances and value degradation.
Drawing from these achievements, Mr. Attaf stressed the urgent need for the Sino-Arab partnership to prioritize support for the Palestinian cause. He condemned the prolonged Zionist aggression against Gaza, denouncing it as unprecedented in its barbarity and brutality.
Attaf called for a unified stance in support of the Palestinian cause, urging the international community, particularly the Security Council, to take decisive action. He emphasized the Council’s responsibility to address the ongoing bombings, destruction, and displacement in Gaza and to support the growing global momentum for recognizing the State of Palestine and granting it full-fledged UN membership.
In conclusion, the minister underscored the imperative of ending decades of impunity enjoyed by the Zionist occupation, urging accountability and justice for the Palestinian people.
